How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle, and level of fitness?
I have never really done sports at all and was the most uncoordinated person ever when I first started Crossfit . I could barely even do jump rope singles and had to use a assortment of bands to do even a single pull-up. Now I can bust out as many double under’s and unassisted pull-ups as I need to and am able to RX most WODs.
ho or what motivates/inspires you to keep coming back?
The people and coaches. And the feeling of accomplishment when I finally get whatever it was that I had been working at. The challenge of constantly trying to improve.
What is your proudest CrossFit achievement?
Competing in my 1st CrossFit Open and also getting my 1st unassisted pull-up.
Name one goal/personal achievement you would like to achieve through CrossFit?
Bar Muscle-ups and stringing toes-to-bars together are next on my goal list.
Hobbies/Interests outside of CrossFit?
Showing my dog Dolce and photography.
Any advice for new members?
I think the best advice I got when I first started was to commit to at least 3 months, then decide if its for you. Don’t just do the intro class and stop, give your body time to improve, to notice changes and get stronger before you give up. I committed to 3 months and now I’m on 3 yrs :)
Any additional thoughts/shout-outs/comments:
I think i1uvit is a special and unique place where so many great people encourage and cheer on one another and pour their hearts into every WOD, day in and day out. You can’t find more caring coaches willing to help you reach your goals. It’s what I look forward to everyday and honestly, its acts like a second family to me. I am so thankful I found i1uvit and I’m proud to be a part of this community and call it my box.
