What Is CrossFit?
CrossFit is not just for the elite athlete, rather it is perfect for virtually anyone, regardless of their age, sex or body size. CrossFit is about moving & using our bodies the way they were intended.
At i1uvit you won’t see any elliptical machines or treadmills, and if you want to look at yourself in the mirror, you will have to go to the bathroom. i1uvit is built for people that want to use their bodies. Here the focus is on functional movement, and a desire to increase fitness and mental strength.
You will use equipment such as pull-up bars, rowers, rings, barbells, ropes, med balls, kettlebells etc. There is plenty of wide open space for running, jumping, squatting, lifting, climbing and throwing – moving your body and using each joint the way it is meant to be used. These movements are put in place to prepare you for anything you may have to do in everyday life and sport.
The WODs (workout of the day) are taught by a certified CrossFit Trainer and performed in a group atmosphere. The programming is designed to improve capacity in each of these fitness domains: cardio-respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy. Each day the programming is prepared for you. It is constantly varied with functional movements so you will never get bored. The workouts are performed at high intensity so you see the greatest benefits of the time you put in. You are in and out of the gym in an hour.
CrossFit is for everyone. You do not need to be "fit already" to join us, you just have to show up. The workouts are scaleable, so the fittest man in the world and someone that hasn’t broken a sweat in years, can be in the same class, doing the same workout together, while both being challenged. CrossFit brings about a spirit of encouragement, growth and finds strength in its community. We have built a family atmosphere where we can overcome resistance, and fight to get 1% better every day.
