I attended Central Washington University and earned a degree in Psychology

CrossFit Level 1

How long have you been CrossFitting?
I began attending i1uvit in 2013 when I was in high school, and have done CrossFit on and off since.

What is your athletic/fitness background?
I grew up playing all kinds of sports, particularly football, basketball, baseball, and track. I played football at Central Washington University for four years, and coached college football for a season in Minnesota. Now, I love to trail run / run ultramarathons, and use fitness to prepare for my job.

How has CrossFit changed your life/lifestyle/level of fitness?
I truly believe in the CrossFit methodology and think it’s helped me to better overcome some of my injuries, and has helped to improve myself in all aspects of fitness. It has also helped me with preparing for my job, which relies on me being physically fit. I love the community that Crossfit i1uvit has built, and I have come to realize how important being around such an encouraging and supportive community can be.

Who or what motivates/inspires you?
I am motivated by the idea that if I don’t work hard and give my best everyday, I am wasting my potential. I am inspired to be the best I can be and to not waste a day, because I never know when my last day will come.

What is your proudest CrossFit achievement(s)?
Getting my CrossFit Level 1 Training Certificate and joining a great community of people.

Name one goal you are working to achieve through CrossFit?
My goal is to continue to find ways for my body to thrive. I’ve had many shoulder injuries and want to use CrossFit to become more resilient so I can avoid injury in the future.

Hobbies/Interests outside of CrossFit:
I love to run, spend time outside in the woods/mountains, spend time at coffee shops, watch football, read and write, cook, and hangout with my close friends. I also love my job.

Any advice for new members?
Don’t give up, and don’t compare yourself to others. It’s about you. Use everyday as an opportunity to learn, grow, and improve. If you’re consistent with your hard work and improvement, you will go a long way.
