How long have you been CrossFitting?
I have been doing CrossFit for 15 months.
How did you find CrossFit i1uvit?
My son, Jensen convinced my wife and I to let him do the Performance class (now knows as CrossFit Kids) and after watching him for a month we decided that if he could do it we certainly could too!
What is your athletic/fitness background?
Not much, for some reason Jensen ended up with all of the athletic ability in our family! :-)
Favorite WOD:
Any workouts that are primarily weightlifting.
Favorite lift or movement:
Strict press
Least favorite WOD:
Anything with burpees
Least favorite movement:
BURPEES
Favorite life quote:
You win some, you lose some, and some get rained out, but you gotta suit up.
Favorite “guilty pleasure” food:
Ice Cream
How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle and level of fitness?
I am certainly a lot stronger than I ever have been and my flexibility is slowly improving. You gain a lot of confidence by just showing up each time and completing the workout. Over time you begin to realize that you really can do them all and they become less intimidating, which then transfers over to confidence in other aspects of your life.
Who or what motivates/inspires you to keep coming back?
I am really quite competitive at times and feel the need to beat all of my family member’s workout times.
What is your proudest CrossFit achievement?
When I started I couldn’t a full overhead squat with even a PVC pipe and now can do them with about 85 lbs on the barbell!
Name one goal/personal achievement you would like to achieve through CrossFit?
I want to be able to compete in the CrossFit Open and complete all of the workouts as prescribed (RX).
Hobbies/Interests outside of CrossFit?
Between CrossFit and work I don’t have time for anything else. I use to play golf, but now I am too sore from CrossFit to play! :-)
Any advice for new members?
Keep coming back. It’s tough at the beginning, but it’s amazing how quickly you can progress, get stronger and more have better mobility.

CrossFit i1uvit is a great community to be a part of. Every person there truly wants everyone to succeed, it’s a fun community and has been fantastic for our entire family!
