How long have you been CrossFitting? 3 plus years
How did you find CrossFit I1uvit? My awesome husband
What is your athletic/fitness background? (if applicable): I was a swimmer and runner growing up. I hadn’t done much strength work-just endurance sports mostly.
Favorite WOD: Usually anything with running. I like longer AMRAPS like at least 25 minutes.
Favorite lift or movement: Squat cleans
Least favorite WOD: Anything with heavy thrusters
Least favorite lift or movement: Double-unders. Still can’t really do them.
Favorite quote: “Talk is cheap.”
Favorite “guilty pleasure” food: gummy candies
How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle, and/or level of fitness? I feel stronger than ever before. I could not pull my body up when I first started-I thought I was strong from working out hard, but I had little upper body strength. For me and Greg, it’s so great to both be so involved in the same thing. It definitely makes us more united.
Who or what motivates/inspires you to keep coming back? I think the fact that the challenge never ends is a huge motivator-I may never get a muscle up or get good at double-unders, so there is always something to work on. I also really love the community! It is so fun to work out with other people and try and beat a few!
What is your proudest CrossFit achievement? Finally getting chest to bars and RX hand stand pushups. (Thanks Becky and Erica)!
Name one goal you are working for and would like to achieve through CrossFit? Getting stronger in my shoulders especially after my shoulder injury last year.
Hobbies/Interests outside of CrossFit: my kids and my family, plus continuing to do running races.
Any advice for new members? Just keep coming-it will take time to get stronger and to learn new movements! Have patience!
