Where are you from? Beautiful Downtown Laurel, Washington I have also never lived anywhere else besides Whatcom County.

Where did you go to school? What did you study? Meridian High School & Western Washington University - Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology

What coaching credentials do you have? I coached volleyball for about 7 years during college + a bit after. I was also a personal trainer for 2 years at City Gym in Bellingham. And now my CrossFit Level 1.

How long have you been CrossFitting? 10 years! I started at i1uvit in 2014.

What is your athletic/fitness background? In high school I played Volleyball, Basketball, Track & Field (High Jump, 300m Hurdles, 4x400 relay were my main events as well as a little javelin just so I could say I was a thrower and get extra team points :) I also played Volleyball for the Western Washington University Vikings as well as one season of Track & Field at Western.

Favorite WOD: I love Annie 50-40-30-20-10 Double Unders + ABMAT sit-ups or anything that has jumping!

Favorite lift or movement: Double Unders

Least favorite WOD: The 24 minute E4MOM of 400M run and in remaining time Bar facing burpees was pretty brutal.

Least favorite lift or movement: Double Dumbbell Devil's Press or Double DB Snatch

Favorite food: Potatoes any way, but mostly French fries.

Favorite quote: "The cure for anything is salt water: Sweat, Tears or the Sea"

Favorite book: The last book I read was when I was pregnant with my oldest and I honestly can't remember having the time to read one since then.

How has CrossFit changed your life/lifestyle/level of fitness? CrossFit has 100% taken the place of sport for me. It is my new sport, where I feel like I can compete with others in the gym somedays or some days I'm just competing with myself to get my butt into the gym. CrossFit has also made me feel like I'm still part of a team, it is such a strong community outside of my own family & friends, a community that is excited to see me everyday and one that I am equally looking forward to hanging out with for an hour everyday. I want every new person that comes to the gym to love it as much as I do. My daughter did the kids camp here at the gym and asked me the other day, "Mom when is your camp going to be over?" meaning when am I going to stop going to the gym and I said, "I plan on going to camp until I physically can't anymore." she replied with "Like until you're Reggie's age?" and Reg is my 91 year old grandpa so yes I guess that is the goal.

Who or what motivates/inspires you? I get really motivated by hero workouts and thinking how much of a privilege it is to get to move my body and do the things we do here at the gym. I never want to take good health and mobility for granted.

What is your proudest CrossFit achievement(s)? I was just recently was able to complete 30 bar muscle ups in the LAZAR workout and was pretty proud of it.

Name one goal you are working to achieve through CrossFit: To stay with it for the long haul, as long as CrossFit i1uvit exists I plan to be here. I also want to improve my gymnastics, butterfly pull-ups, butterfly chest to bar and to be able to do a ring muscle up again.

Hobbies/Interests outside of CrossFit: Boating with my family (crabbing, prawning & fishing) I also still enjoy playing volleyball (city league)

Any advice for new members? Do not compare yourself to anyone else. Do not compare to your younger self, If you used to be in shape or if you used to be an athlete, check your ego at the door and meet yourself where you are at now. Nobody is judging you and everyone is happy that you are here and trying to make a positive change in your life and they want to be supportive and cheer you on in that journey.
